Find your calm
Practice comfortable breathing and getting oriented in the water, one step at a time.
Launching in Albuquerque
Adult swim lessons & water-confidence training in Albuquerque.
Learn to float, tread water, and work toward getting yourself to safety. A practical four-session course for adults who want a calmer relationship with water.
No payment or commitment. Get the pool, dates, and instructor details before you decide.
Comfort comes with practice
Many adults can get across the shallow end but don’t trust themselves in deeper water. That gap can turn a family pool, lake day, or vacation into quiet anxiety.
Start with the fundamentals: getting comfortable, using buoyancy, moving through the water, and knowing your limits. You don’t have to be interested in swimming laps to begin.
Build confidence through practice. Progress is individual, not a four-session guarantee.
Practical water skills
Progress depends on each participant. The program teaches and practices these skills; four sessions do not guarantee mastery.
Practice comfortable breathing and getting oriented in the water, one step at a time.
Explore a supported back float, work toward floating independently, and return to standing.
Practice body position and steady movements that help you stay at the surface.
Build toward swimming a short distance, reaching the wall, and getting out of the pool.
The founding course
Start where you are. Skills and depth are adapted to your readiness, not a fixed deadline.
Session 1
Start in shallow water: breathing, supported floating, and returning to standing.
Session 2
Practice balance and buoyancy, then work toward independent floating and treading.
Session 3
Practice short-distance swimming, reaching the wall, and pool exits at a suitable depth.
Session 4
Connect the skills you’ve learned, understand your limits, and plan your next steps.
Safer choices matter, too. Discuss supervision, appropriate life jackets, and calling for help. Learn why reaching or throwing flotation is safer than entering the water to attempt a rescue. This is not rescue, lifeguard, CPR, or first-aid certification.
Who this is for
Whether you’re starting from scratch or rebuilding confidence, there’s no need to explain why you haven’t learned before.

You want better judgment and more composure around pools, lakes, and family trips.
You can swim a little, but want to feel more comfortable beyond the shallow end.
You’re learning for the first time or returning after years away from the water.
You want baseline confidence before a cruise, lake trip, or more time around a home pool.

Questions, answered plainly
What to know before founding enrollment opens.
Ask a questionadmin@squareonegroup.ioNo. Stay Afloat ABQ does not certify you to perform an in-water rescue or promise that you can save another person. Entering the water can put an untrained rescuer in danger. The emergency-response portion emphasizes calling for help and using safer reach-or-throw options when available. Lifeguard rescue, CPR, and first aid require separate qualified training.
No previous swimming experience is required to express interest. The course is for adults 18 and older, including beginners and people returning to the water. Before enrollment, a readiness conversation will help establish whether the group format and host pool can meet your needs. Tell us privately about any accommodations you may need; please don’t put medical information in the interest form.
The launch is in Albuquerque. The facility and dates are still being finalized. Everyone on the waitlist will receive the location, schedule, instructor information, and participation requirements before deciding whether to enroll.
No. The founding course price is $299 per person for all four 45-minute small-group sessions. This form does not collect payment or reserve a seat. You’ll receive the full inclusions and any pool-related fees before enrollment opens, so you can review the complete cost before deciding.
The final participant limit and supervision arrangements will be set for the venue and learners’ needs, then shared before enrollment. This is a group course, not four private lessons. If you need one-to-one support, ask us about suitability before enrolling.
This is adult swim instruction focused on practical water confidence. You’ll work on floating, treading, short-distance swimming, and getting out of a pool—not lap times or competitive technique. The four-session format gives these fundamentals a clear focus; it does not promise mastery in a fixed number of lessons.
You start at a depth appropriate to your readiness. Progression is based on comfort and demonstrated skills, not a deadline to reach deep water by a certain session. Pool practice does not establish safety in every lake, river, or ocean condition. More instruction may be needed after the course.
Instructor details and relevant qualifications will be shared with the Albuquerque launch announcement before enrollment opens. Have a question about the teaching approach or your needs? Email admin@squareonegroup.io before joining.
